—Last week we experienced a broken water pipe at the outside door of the undercroft. Thanks to the Buildings and Grounds Committee, it was repaired on this past Monday, at a cost to the church of $500.

—Our Buildings and Grounds Committee is also working to get estimates for both roofing repairs and HVAC updates for Royall Hall. Let's pray.

—The Vestry invites all parishioners to consider which ministry you would either like to join, or create, at Holy Cross. We all have our unique gifts, given by God. He teaches us that these gifts are to be used to His glory, not placed beneath a basket. You are asked to think about what gifts He has given you, and how those can be used in His vineyard.

—As we enter the summer months, please continue timely pledges and plate contributions to the parish.

—We want to hear what you think about where Holy Cross is and where we are going. We are in the early stages of planning a congregational survey for later this year. You will hear more about this soon.

—Many people think Holy Cross is the church building. As the sign over the sanctuary exit reminds us, WE are the church, not the building. WE ARE HOLY CROSS!

HOLY CROSS ARREARS—The Diocese of Atlanta has established 2019 as the Year of Jubilee for churches in the Diocese who have outstanding arrears of Diocesan assessments. Holy Cross is one of those churches. We are now engaged with the Diocese to determine how much of our arrears will be forgiven as we move forward, to re-establish our full rights as a voting parish in the Diocese. More to come on this subject.

OUR COMMITMENT—The vestry is committed to the Holy Cross Vision and Mission as well as full transparency to the congregation (i.e. out members, the Diocese of Atlanta and the community at large). We will continue to provide periodic updates for better communication and enhanced engagement.

A Prayer for our parish

O God, sustain us, your disciples at Holy Cross, as we face new tasks, in the challenges of a demanding and complicated world. By your Holy Spirit, bless us with sound judgment and the courage to persevere, so that we may boldly bear your Cross. And make us, we pray, faithful servants of your promised kingdom, through Jesus Christ our blessed Savior. Amen.
